April 15, 2007.20:38 WIP dump
I've been sketching a lot lately, so I thought I'd dump some of my favorite WIPs.
January 26, 2007.22:32 Some acrylic works
Wanted to post some traditional paintings here. They'd be out of of place in my Portfolio.
Working with acrylics is a whole different experience from working with Photoshop. I'm still new to "real" painting, but I'm getting better. And it has taught me so much about color and blending. I seriously recommend for all digital artists to experiment with traditional media. They don't give you any shortcuts and make you pay attention to what you're doing; it's truly been a learning experience.
Pardon the quality of these photos. They all look much better in person.
Amoeba: acrylics on canvas, 22" x 28".
The Deep: acrylics on canvas, 30" x 24.
Neptune: acrylics on canvas; 24" x 36". My personal favorite of the bunch. :]
November 24, 2006.20:46 New WIPs
It's been a while since the last update.
I've been so busy with school and my home life. My output always slows to a crawl the first semester of college. It's really down to crunch time now, with only three weeks left to the semester and I have so much work to do. D: Once winter break comes I'll have a whole month to myself to paint.
Two wips:
Also, I posted a few step-by-step things in the scraps gallery of my deviantART account, showing the progress of Mhoiishi, Summon Ininfity, and Aa'gho. Take a look if you're interested!

July 23, 2006.02:34 navate.com updated, and some WIP shots
Navate.com's new layout is up and running. I added an additonal gallery, "concept", for speedpaints, fanarts, and other such silliness. I'm trying to keep the two main galleries more professional/portfolio-like. Strictly my best work and all that. Check it out!
I'm also considering adding a tutorial/walkthrough section under etc., seeing as I keep pretty in-depth record of my paintings as they progress. It helps me learn to see how I change things from each stage. I don't feel I'm good enough to give instruction on painting, but maybe people will learn something from seeing the way my pictures progress. So, perhaps in the future, that'll make an appearence.
In the meantime, here's some more WIPs of things I'm working on:
This one's about 80% finished.
June 28, 2006.01:47 Ooh, upgraded :D
Now that I'm back from my trip to Europe (which I diligently saved up for all last year), I fianlly purchased a CGSociety membership. So my portfolio is all fancy now.
It's summer here now, which means lots of time for painting. I have so much I want to get done before I return to college. I'm working on redesigning navate.com, and I hope to finish a few paintings in time for Exotique II. Still trying to get into Ballistic's books... thus far no luck, but hey. It's got to happen one day, right? :]
I'm quite terrible at writing blogs, so... I suppose I'll end this with a little peek at what I'm working on now. "Little" because they're still sketches, and that means they're ugly. Enjoy, anyway.
